International Students of NCEPU Participated in the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services

On September 2, President Xi Jinping delivered a video speech to the Global Trade in Services Summit of the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services in Beijing, once again sending a clear signal that China will unswervingly expand high-level opening up to the outside world. “This year marks the 45th anniversary of China's reform and opening up. China will insist on promoting high-level opening up to the outside world, comprehensively promote Chinese modernization with high-quality development, and provide new opportunities for open cooperation among countries.” President Xi Jinping's speech set the stage for our school's education opening to the outside world and the future. Study Abroad in China points the way. To deeply study the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s speech, we carry out educational activities on the national conditions of studying in China, so that international students can understand the relevant policies and development status of China’s trade in services, and deeply understand China’s insistence on high-level opening up and Chinese modernization; on September 4, nearly 50 international students in our university from 17 countries and regions in China went to the CIFTIS in Shijingshan Shougang Park to conduct research activities on site.

Themed Opening-up leads development, cooperation delivers the future, the 2023 CIFTIS covers 9 major topics including telecommunications, computer and information services, financial services, cultural tourism services, and educational services. International students of our university visited the special exhibition on telecommunications and computer and information services, and intuitively experienced China's cutting-edge technologies and development achievements in communication and digital technology and metaverse applications through volunteer explanations and personal experiences. International students visited the special exhibition on cultural tourism services, gained insights into the important achievements in the high-quality development of Beijings cultural industry in recent years, and immersed themselves in the booths of countries along the Belt and Road to promote cultural exchanges between countries.

International students who participated in the event said that through this event, they felt a more comprehensive China and deeply realized that China has made important achievements in various aspects such as environment, education, sports, and finance. OMYIA, a doctoral student from Sudan, said that he was very happy to have the opportunity to visit the 2023 CIFTIS, where he saw many booths related to his major and experienced cutting-edge technologies in electrical engineering-related fields. FRANCINE, a master's student from Rwanda, said that he liked the sports service exhibition very much. He learned the green and low-carbon concepts advocated by the Beijing Winter Olympics here and also tried many new and exciting sports.

The China International Fair for Trade in Services is the world's first and currently largest comprehensive exhibition in the field of services trade. It is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Beijing Municipal People's Government and has been successfully held for nine sessions so far. Our university has been invited to participate in online exhibitions as an exhibitor many times. The exhibition works involve the recruitment and training of international students, Sino-foreign cooperative education and other related contents. International students from our university go to the CIFTIS every year to study and exchange on-site.

International students also communicated with our schools student volunteers at the CIFTIS.
