On the evening of October 22, 2020, 18 international students from the International Education Institute went to have exchange learning with students of the international talent training class in the International Talent Training Base of China Huaneng Group. Sponsored by China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. and undertaken by North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), the international talent training class of China Huaneng Group aims to create an international excellent talent team with strong working ability and international vision. Our 18 international students come from 7 countries, such as Bangladesh, Pakistan and Zambia, have a deep understanding of the local conditions and customs of their original countries and China; at the same time, the students of the training class also have local and international working background in the energy and power industry. So, this exchange activity could broaden the international vision of both parties, enrich the extracurricular learning content of our international students, and strengthen the cooperation between the institute and enterprise.

The principal of the international talent training class of China Huaneng Group first made a brief speech to introduce the development of Huaneng Group in the aspects of international strategy, international talent training, etc. and warmly welcomed the international students of our institute. Then 18 international students exchanged with 70-odd students of the international talent training class of Huaneng Group.

Students of the training class introduced the general situation of the group’s international development to our international students, showed the electrical engineering projects of different countries and regions, analyzed some successful construction cooperation cases adapted to local conditions, and patiently answered the questions of study and work raised by our international students. Our international students introduced to the exchange personnel of Huaneng Group the current situations of electric power development of their countries, the demand of local people for electric power development, and the key problems in their local electric power development. In addition, the exchange personnel of both parties also exchanged views on the development of the international power industry, and carried out exchanges on domestic and foreign living habits, customs and traditions, languages, social culture, etc.

The exchange activity lasted about two hours. At the end of the activity, the exchange personnel of both parties were loath to end it and expressed that they looked forward to the next further exchange.

This exchange learning activity has expanded the international vision of both parties and made the international students have a deeper understanding of the international development of Huaneng Group and Chinese enterprises, giving guidance for the future learning and development direction of the international students, and building a bridge for the future international talent exchange between the institute and enterprise.
