From July 10th to July 12th, international students from our university participated in 2023 “Stride to the Future” Changping District Entrepreneurship Training Camp for Foreign Talents. This training camp is hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Changping District, Beijing, and organized by Beijing Shuanggao Future Technology Service Co., Ltd.

Qi Zheng, dean of the International Education Institute, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that the university relies on the university’s advantageous disciplines, faculty and teaching platforms to recruit and train international students in China, actively implements the national “Belt and Road” initiative, and actively undertakes national diplomatic tasks. Vigorously promote “Study in China” brand building, telling Chinese stories and spreading Chinese experience. Qi Zheng pointed out that innovation and entrepreneurship of international students is an important part of “study in China”. Work in this area can effectively promote the career development of international students in China, effectively promote people-to-people bonds, and build a community with a shared future for mankind. North China Electric Power University will take this innovation and entrepreneurship training camp as an opportunity to actively promote innovation and entrepreneurship among international students, serve in the construction of the capital’s “four centers, and provide outstanding talents for the capital's opening to the outside world and international cooperation.

This training camp offers a total of 8 courses, systematically explaining knowledge related to innovation and entrepreneurship startup, evaluation, and implementation to international students, and inviting well-known entrepreneurs to share innovation and entrepreneurship experiences with international students. During the training period, international students in our university actively participated in the classroom and seriously communicated with teachers to discuss classroom issues. Through three days of training, the international students gained a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship-related policies and knowledge about innovation and entrepreneurship in Changping District, Beijing, and gained a lot. Many international students spontaneously wrote handwritten letters of thanks to express their gratitude to the university, the organizer and this innovation and entrepreneurship training event.

ASGEDOM, a doctoral student from Ethiopia, said that studying the course gave him the confidence to face various difficulties and obstacles that he may encounter in the process of starting a business, and laid a solid foundation for a successful business in the future. KAHOUN, an international undergraduate student from Burkina Faso, expressed his gratitude to the college and the Changping District Foreign Affairs Office for providing this valuable training opportunity. He said that during the three-day course, he gained a lot of knowledge that could not be learned in the classroom. He hoped that there would be more opportunities to participate in such events in the future.

After the training course at the training camp, our university, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Changping District People's Government and Beijing Shuanggao Future Technology Services Co., Ltd. jointly held the unveiling ceremony of “the Changping District Foreign Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Base”. The three units will rely on the base to jointly build a platform for the employment and entrepreneurship of foreign talents and actively promote the employment and entrepreneurship of foreign talents.
