School of Foreign Languages

The School of Foreign Languages of NCEPU was formally established in Nov. 2003. The school has its headquarters in Beijing and an English Department in Baoding campus. The school currently has 132 faculty members, including 119 full-time teachers and 13 management and experimental technicians. Among the full-time faculty, there are 12 professors, 38 associate professors, and 18 have a doctorate degree. The proportion of teachers with a master's degree or above is more than 81%. The school has formed a team of teachers with a reasonable structure of academic qualifications and professional titles, with good teacher ethics and a high-level of teaching and research. 


The school has two undergraduate majors of English and Translation, and has the right to confer a master's degree in the first-level discipline of Foreign Languages and Literatures and a master's degree in Translation. There are 21 master tutors. The school enrolls about 90 undergraduates majoring in English every year, and recruits about 50 graduate students in English Language and Literature, Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, and English Translation. There are currently 430 undergraduates and 141 postgraduates. The school undertakes the teaching of English majors for undergraduates and professional masters, as well as the public foreign language teaching for all masters, undergraduates, and adult students of the school, involving five languages like English, Japanese, Russian, French and German. The school currently has 19 language laboratories which are mainly digitalized. The school focuses on academics and scientific research, and has won many provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and teaching achievement awards, and many academic papers have been published in core journals both at home and abroad. After years of hard work, under the "14th Five-Year" development plan, the School of Foreign Languages will keep pace with the times, be realistic and innovative, and be determined to reform, and play a supporting role in building a multidisciplinary, research-oriented, international high-level university and make great contribution.
