International Students of NCEPU Participated in 2022 Beijing International Friendship Forest Tree Planting Event

2022 Beijing International Friendship Forest Tree Planting Event was held in Manjing West Village of Shahe Town in Changping District on April 16th. With the theme of “Together for a Greener Beijing”, the event attracted about 100 participants from more than 40 countries, including diplomatic envoys, foreign experts, and international students in Beijing. Invited by Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, 13 international students from NCEPU participated in the tree planting activity following the epidemic prevention measures.

After the brief ceremony, the international students worked in cooperation with a due division of labor, digging pits with shovels, filling soil with seedlings, pumping water for irrigation, and planting cherry blossoms, magnolias, and other plants that symbolize friendship between China and foreign countries.

After planting trees, the international students were awarded with Land Greening Certificate of Honor. SHEMA JEAN BOSCO, a junior majoring in Electrical Engineering from Rwanda, said that the event was very meaningful. By participating in the tree planting event, he deeply felt China’s efforts to improve the ecological environment.

2022 Beijing International Friendship Forest Tree Planting Event is co-hosted by Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Office of Beijing Greening Commission, China Communist Youth League Beijing Committee, Beijing NGO Network for International Exchanges, and Changping District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. Launched in 2015, the event has been successfully held for 8 sessions, with about 5,500 trees of various types planted and raised, making it the largest international tree-planting event in Beijing with the largest number of participants from different countries.
